Video

This is the twelfth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, I have discussed how to solve a blending problem which is also known as the ‘Diet’ problem. The problem was solved using Excel and solver. Viewers are advised to watch the previous videos (especially the video regarding the Product Mix problem) in order to decipher the continuity. The problem that is discussed is taken from the following book:

Operations Management: Sustainability and Supply Chain Management, Twelfth Edition

Video

This is the eleventh video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, we have discussed a special type of binary integer programming known as the Set-covering problem. The following sets of constraints are the last five constraints that were left for the viewers when we discussed the algebraic LP formulation in this video. x6 ≥ 1 for Shahdara x3 + x5 + x7 + x8 + x9 ≥ 1 for Karol Bagh x3 + x5 + x7 + x8 + x9 ≥ 1 for PaharGanj x3 + x5 + x7 + x8 + x9 ≥ 1 for Central Delhi x10 ≥ 1 for South Delhi

Video

This is the tenth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, we have discussed how to solve a simple assignment problem using an Excel solver. Since this is an extension to the transportation problem, viewers are advised to watch the transportation problem video (no. 8) before watching this one. The problem that we discussed here is from the following book. An Introduction to Management Science: Quantitative Approaches to Decision Making (14e) – Anderson, Camm, Cochran

Video

This is the ninth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. We have discussed a simple Transshipment model here. Since transshipment models are extensions of the transportation model, the viewers are advised to first watch the transportation problem video i.e. video number 8 of this series. The problem that was discussed is from the following book. Introduction to Management Science

Video

This is the eighth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, we have discussed how to formulate a transportation LP problem and how to solve that using an Excel solver setup. Viewers are advised to watch the previous videos of the same lecture series (playlist) before watching this video in order to find continuity. The problem that is solved here is from the book

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT Sustainability and Supply Chain Management – Jay Heizer, Barry Render, Chuck Munson.

Video

This is the seventh video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, we have discussed how to solve an integer program and a binary integer program using Excel’s solver add-in. For the integer program, we have taken the same problem that we discussed in video number 5 in the same lecture series. So, the viewers are advised to refer to the previous videos in this series in order to find continuity. For the binary integer program, we have taken a simple Knapsack problem from the following book. Introduction to Management Science

Video

This is the sixth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. This is video is the explanation of all the parts of an answer report and sensitivity report generated from Excel’s Solver add-in. Viewers are advised to watch the prior videos in the same lecture series “Optimization using Excel” in order to feel the continuity. An answer report is the vivid description of the model output while the sensitivity report is the prediction of the model output when the model parameters change within a certain range.

Video

This is the fifth video of the lecture series Optimization using Excel. In this video, we have explained how to enter algebraically formulated linear programming into an Excel worksheet and Solver add-in. The problem selected here is a Product Mix problem. Viewers are advised to watch the previous videos in the same series in order to maintain continuity.

Video

The is the fourth video of the lecture series optimization using excel. In this video, we have introduced the use of the Solver tool in Excel. The idea was to get acquainted with the tool and its options. Views are advised to watch the previous videos of this lecture series in order to maintain continuity.

Video

This is the third video for the lecture series ‘Optimization using Excel’. In this video, we have explained the graphical method of solving and LP. Viewers are advised to complete the previous video(s) before viewing this one (in order to maintain continuity).
